Phytochemical analysis of a potential medicinal orchid such as Malaxis rheedei SW, (Orchidaceae) by using the techniques such as Fourier Transformation Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Ultra Violet Spectroscopy (UV). Through this technique the methanolic extract of whole plant has taken to analyze the detection of potential bioactive compounds which are present in this plant. The occurrence of such phytochemical constituents also reveals the importance of this valuable medicinal orchid in the field of herbal medicine for treatment of variety of ailments.
