Casuarina equisetifolia contained carbohydrates, alkaloids, proteins, glycosides, saponins, phenolics, flavonoids, tannins, steroids, gum, reducing sugars and triterpenoids. It exerted many pharmacological activities including antimicrobial, antidiabetic, antioxidant, cytotoxic, hypolipidemic, gastroprotective, hepatoprotective and many other pharmacological effects.
