Many plants showed beneficial effects in respiratory diseases, these included medicinal cough suppressants, bronchodilators, expectorants, mucolytics, respiratory stimulants, and antimicrobials (antiviral, antifungal and antibacterials including anti- mycobacterium tuberculosis). This review will highlight the effects of medicinal plants on respiratory diseases.
