The study was include 100 malaria positive patients and 10 malaria negative individuals, all participants were checked for platelets count and the parasite species and parasitaemia were determined for all malaria positive patients. There were 76% of malaria infected patients had thrombocytopenia, the result show statistical correlation between malaria and thrombocytopenia, no correlation between thrombocytopenia and plasmodium species or parasitaemia.
