Hyperlipidemia is defined as increase in the lipid content in blood. Moringa oleifera, known as Horse raddish tree (Family:Moringaceae), commonly used herb in vegetable food traditionally used for anti-oxidant, cardiotonic, hypotensive, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, hypolipidemic, bacterial skin infection and anti microbial. To investigate effect of ethanolic extract of Moringa oleifera Seeds on triton induced hyperlipidmc rats and high cholesterol fed diet rats. Triton induced hyperlipidmc rats and High cholesterol fed diet rats exhibited significant increase in total serum cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein, very low density lipoprotein and significant decrease in high density lipoproteins. Treatment with ethanolic extract of Moringa oleifera Seeds significantly decreased total serum cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein, very low density lipoprotein and increased in high density lipoproteins in rats. Ethanolic extract of M. oleifera 300mg/kg have Hypolipidemic activity attributed due to presence of active constituents.
